Trends & Ideas – These cards will be the first impression of your wedding festivities, so take advantage of this opportunity to build excitement amongst your wedding guests. If you already know the colors and/or theme of your wedding, now’s your chance to provide a sneak peak. Or try including a favorite love poem or quote that symbolizes your relationship. Here are some of my favorite ideas and trends: 1. Use vibrant colors that will ”pop” as soon as guests open the envelope. 2. Incorporate graphics that correspond with the season and/or location of your event. If you are planning a fall wedding, try including colorful leaves, or include seashells for a wedding on the water. 3. If the timing is right, turn your save-the-date cards into holiday greetings. Incorporate your engagement photo or another photo taken shortly after the proposal. 4. Who says they have to be printed stationery? Set yours apart by turning them into scrolls, pens, stickers, magnets or a creative calendar-marker. You are only limited by your imagination.
There are really so many ways that you could play with to create your very own save-the-date cards for weddings. Have fun with them, and create a meaningful save-the-date that your guests can retain for keepsake.
Keep It Sweet And Simple – Today’s save the date cards can be designed from the comfort and convenience of home at the same time as the wedding invitations, graduation announcements, or other relevant correspondence. Family photographs, personalized messages, and customized color schemes can be integrated to match the color scheme and theme of the event itself. The basic message should tell guests what is happening and on which date. Some couples include a short poem,, or other expression of affection when there is enough room. They can be far less formal than the wedding invitations, so it is acceptable to be a bit more playful, lighthearted, or creative.
Save the date cards can take the form of any message medium, and often do. They sometimes correspond in style to the wedding invitations, or they take the form of refrigerator magnets, brochures, postcards, booklets, or tri-fold letters. The medium is up to you, but the shortness of the message usually lends itself well to magnets or small cards.
Preparing family and friends for your wedding is a kind and thoughtful gesture. There are many different ways to create save the date cards, some of these ideas can be a bit pricey, while others are inexpensive, but these cards are a great way to announce your wedding plans to your guests ahead of time.
